Delbert R. Stith Delbert R. Stith, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Chula Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri in the presence of his family. Delbert was born the son of Opal and Hazel (Wilson) Stith on March 3, 1929 in Livingston County, Missouri. He was a 1947 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He served in the Missouri Army National Guard for 10 years. Delbert was united in marriage to Dorothy May Hinnen on October 21, 1951, in Chula, Missouri. She survives of the home. Delbert was a member of the Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri and most recently attended Lifepoint Church of Chillicothe. Delbert worked as a car salesman at Barnes Baker for 14 years, but primarily made his living on the farm. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going camping. Delbert enjoyed traveling and had visited Alaska, Florida, Colorado, the Bahamas and many other exciting destinations. Delbert was a volunteer for the Chula Fire Department for over 20 years. He served on the Chula School Board and the Creamridge Township Board and was a member of the Livingston County Steam and Gas Association. Delbert is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; three daughters, Donna Rose Prettyman, of Diamond, Missouri, Debra Lynn Head, and husband, Neal, of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Diana Kay Holcer, of Chula, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kevin Cokerham, Diana Fries, Cassie Holcer, Amy Raulston, and Chance Holcer, and four great-grandchildren. Delbert is also survived by one brother Donald Wayne Stith of Hamilton, Missouri, one sister Wilda Irene Ireland of Chula, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Charlie Prettyman and infant great granddaughter Haven Grace Raulston. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.  There will be a scheduled visitation held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chula Rural Fire Department and/or Plainview Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
