Deborah Ann McKerlie

Deborah Ann McKerlie, age 64, a resident of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home. She was born the daughter of Roy and Joyce (Weighart) Cope on October 1, 1959 in Cameron, Missouri. Debbie graduated from Shiloh High School, Hume, Illinois. She married Dicky Dee McKerlie at Coloma Baptist Church on December 28, 1979. He survives of the home.

Debbie was employed by Brass Bull and Taster's Choice Restaurants and Walmart. She owned and operated D&D Chuckwagon Restaurant, as well as a lunch trailer,all in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was employed by Job Corps, Excelsior Springs, Missouri as a transportation driver and later for Oats Transit, Chillicothe, Missouri. She took pride in taking care of the vegetables and produce from their huge garden and animal farm. She was a good cook and served delicious meals to her family. She thought trout fishing was fun as long as it only lasted a few days. She also enjoyed camping, sight seeing and being with friends.

She is survived by her husband, Dicky McKerlie; son, Kevin Michael McKerlie; sisters, Carolyn Sue Dodson, Wanda Cheryl Moorshead, and Ruth Ann Matthews; brothers, David Leon, Carl Allen, and John Wayne Cope; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Larry) Kerby, Judy McKerlie, and Barbara Cowan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Cope and Joyce and Sam Shirk; daughter, Autumn Renae McKerlie; brother, Buddy Leroy Cope; infant sister, Joyce Eileen Cope; and brothers-in-law, Ray Allen McKerlie, Dale Bruce Cowan, Richard Dodson, and Clayton Moorshead.

A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
