Dayrel Wright Mcclure

Dayrel Wright McClure, a long term resident of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 75. He was born in Brimson, Missouri, to Irene and Dayrel McClure. He had a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Education from Maryville and obtained his Masters from Kirksville. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 in security detail. He married Dixie Davenport in 1961. Dayrel was an Industrial Arts teacher in Dayton and then Southeast Webster where he also taught Driver's Education. Dayrel retired in 1997. Dayrel enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and restoring antique tractors. Survivors include his wife, Dixie and son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Sonia McClure. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be private. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chula Presbyterian Church, Chula, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com .
