Davy Lee Mason Davy Lee Mason, age 81, a resident of Knoxville, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri. Davy was born the son of John Franklin and Mary V. (McBee) Mason on March 8, 1933, in Lamar, Colorado. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 -1953 and 1955 - 1958. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Davy was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Doyle on July 4, 1958, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He worked as a Welder/Pipe Fitter for Bayer Chemical in Kansas City, Missouri, for 28 years. Davy was a member of the Knoxville Community Church, Polo Masonic Lodge #232, Ararat Shriners of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Richmond American Legion Post #0237. Davy loved his family and his country. Survivors include his wife Dorothy of the home; two daughters, Terri Gray and husband Shawn of Polo, Missouri, Kelly DeFeo and husband Chuck of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson, Tyler Templeton, his wife Amy; two great grandchildren, Ali and Aiden Templeton of Polo, Missouri, one sister, Marylou Austin of Lamar, Colorado; and one nephew, Tracy Burgess of Bates City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one nephew, Joe Burgess, Jr. Private services for the immediate family will be held at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Polo Masonic Lodge #232 and mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P. O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri.
