David Nelson Walker

David Nelson Walker David Nelson Walker, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. David was born the son of Harry Nelson and Betty Jean (Venable) Walker on March 5, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1965 graduate of Chillicothe High School, and then attended and graduate from Central Missouri State University, with an Industrial Engineering degree. David worked at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant after college, but returned to his love "The Farm". He was dedicated to his farming for over 40 years. David had a commercial pilot license, and his passions were flying his airplane, restoring antique John Deere tractors, and was very skilled at making beautiful furniture pieces for his family. He also enjoyed camping and playing his banjo. After retirement, David was passionate about manicuring his yard (still the farmer). David was a board member of Mt. Olive Cemetery, and a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; sister, Deborah Walker (David Moore) Chillicothe, sister, Kim Dinsmore (Nelson) Meadville; nieces, Candace Anthony (Ray), J'Nelle Jenkins (Andrew); nephews, Jacob Dinsmore (Brooke), Tyler Dinsmore, Frank Anthony, Alex Anthony, Riley Jenkins, and niece, Megan Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Mike Duncan (Joanne) O'Fallon, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at Blackwater Restaurant and Lounge, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will be a private family inurnment at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Cemetery and/or Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhomes.com .
