David Wesley Speicher David Wesley Speicher, age 76, a resident of Meadville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. David was born the son of Clarence and Marjorie (Levean) Speicher on January 27, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from St. Ambrose Academy, Davenport, Iowa. After graduating high school he received his Associates Degree. David served in the United States Navy from 1957-1967 in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Shirley Thorne on December 29, 1988, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2014. David worked as a self-employed electrician for ten years. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 858 of Chillicothe, and also a member of the Chillicothe Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #656. Survivors include two sons, David Speicher Jr. and wife Jodi of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, and Leslie Cook and companion Vickie Lingard of Meadville, Missouri; three daughters, Renee Speicher and husband Rick Prigmore of Rolette, Texas, Beverly Howe and husband Steve of Wheeling, Missouri, and Connie Burton and husband Nelson of Chillicothe, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Brady and Tyler Speicher of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, Grace Prigmore of Rolette, Texas, Tanya Letourneau and husband Bryan of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Darla Govoni and husband David of Brimfield, Massachusetts, Lendy Donoho and husband Jimmy of Wheeling, Missouri, Jana Brobst and husband Jason of Chula, Missouri, Melissa Vestal and husband Bobby of Moberly, Missouri, Matthew Burton and wife Sarah of Kansas City, Missouri, Tara Burkeybile and husband Bobby of Trenton, Missouri, and Misty Lingard and fiancé Nic Hanes of Trenton, Missouri; fourteen great-grandchildren Jeri and Steven Govoni, Hope and Howie Donoho, Gunner and Gage Brobst, Allyson and Brody Vestal, Sylvia Burton, Gabby Griffin, Nate, Rich, and Austin Burkeybile, and Payton Hanes; and one brother, Dick Speicher of Bellville, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley Speicher; one sister Patricia Ratliff; and one brother Johney Speicher. Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. There is no scheduled family visitation.
