David W Peterie David Peterie, age 75, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013, at his residence. David was born the son of Iliff M. "Ted" and Eula (Reeder) Peterie on September 16, 1937, in Laredo, Missouri. He was a 1956 graduate from Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Evonne (Youngbear) Staton on February 14, 1970. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2001. He later was united in marriage to Janice (Pollock) Hamilton on September 15, 2007. She survives of the home. David served in the United States Marines during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He worked as a Veterans Service Officer for the Missouri Veterans Commission for 29 years. David was a member of the Chillicothe Highview Baptist Church and attended Edinburg Baptist Church. He was a member of the Show Me Rabbits and Rich Hill Rabbit Clubs from 1970 until 2010. He enjoyed judging rabbits at rabbit shows. He also enjoyed working antique clocks and woodworking. Survivors include wife, Janice Peterie, of the home; five sons, Jeff Staton and wife Shelley of Chillicothe, Missouri, Jason Peterie of Gretna, Nebraska, Scott Peterie of Kansas City, Missouri, David Peterie of West Virginia, Darren Peterie of Sonoma, California; three step-sons, David Hamilton Jr. and wife Marilia of Belgium, Michael Hamilton and wife Fran of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Jonathan Hamilton of Rapid City, South Dakota; one step-daughter, Gina Loechler and husband Brent of King George, Virginia; three grandchildren, David Trace Staton, Emerson Staton, and Dalton Peterie; eleven step-grandchildren; twenty-one step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Overstreet and husband Floyd of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Joyce Greene and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister-in-law Joan Peterie of Trenton, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evonne Peterie; two brothers, Allen Peterie and Lawrence Dean; and one sister Shirley Gear. Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edinburg Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
