David "Raymond" Keith

David "Raymond" Keith David "Raymond" Keith, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Livingston Manor, Chillicothe, Missouri. Raymond was born the son of David and Bessie (Asbury) Keith on May 19, 1933, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1951 graduate of Chillicothe High School. In his early years, Raymond worked for the Keith Family Logging business. Raymond was united in marriage to Marilyn Figg on March 21, 1953, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean War. He worked as a Bridge Construction Inspector for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 23 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where he served as a deacon, trustee, and usher, and was very active in Sunday School. Raymond enjoyed gardening, cutting wood, waterskiing, goose hunting at the family cabin in Bedford, visiting friends in the nursing homes, delivering Meals on Wheels, and helping people. Raymond also enjoyed 50 years of ski vacations at Lake Pomme de Terre with his entire family. He served as an R.S.V.P. volunteer for many years, winning Volunteer of the Year Award in 2010. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of the home; three sons, Lee Keith and wife Donna of Kansas City, Missouri, Ray Keith and wife Paige of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, and Ron Keith and wife Becky of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Jenny Hughes and husband Greg of Chillicothe, Missouri; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Marge Plowman and husband Thomas of Kimberling City, Missouri; one sister-in-law, LaDallia Keith of New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Wilbur, Howard, and Larry Keith. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church and/or House of Prayer and may be left or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
