David Michael Churchill
David Michael Churchill, age 65, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri.
David was born the son of Donald Gene and Mary Jane (Rauckman) Churchill on September 12, 1953, in Concordia, Kansas. He was a 1971 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He then attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, graduating in 1975, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. David was united in marriage to Virginia Jo Patchen on December 13, 1975, at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. David worked for Churchill Truck Lines in Chillicothe, Missouri, from 1975 until 1994. He was an owner operator from 1994 until 2000. From 2000 until 2005, he worked for Watkins Motor Lines. David then worked for ABF Freight in Kansas City, Missouri, from 2005, until his retirement in 2019. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. David was also a member of the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656, Chillicothe Friendship Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 89, Chillicothe Shrine Club, Teamsters Local 41, Chillicothe Boy Scouts Troop 120, and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say as an Honorary Warrior.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Jo Churchill of the home; two sons, Donald P. Churchill and wife Wendi of Faucett, Missouri, and David M. "Duke" Churchill, Jr. of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren, Margaret Jane Ann Churchill, Vincent Mosby Churchill, Luke and Seth Branson, and Charlotte McGrath; one sister, Julie Longwell and husband Mark of Kansas City, Missouri; and one brother-in-law, Bennie F. Patchen III and wife Brenda of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Neelie M. Churchill; and one brother, Randolph Gene Churchill.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
