Darell R. Johnson Darell Ray Johnson, age 58, a resident of Polo, Missouri, formerly of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013, at his residence. Darell was born the son of Eugene Lyle and Vivian Ruth (Jones) Johnson on March 8, 1955, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1973 graduate of Southwest High School. He was united in marriage to Shirley K. Pallanich on September 27, 1997, in Polo, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a carpenter for many years and as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Mussleman and Hall in Kansas City for 11 years. Darell was a member of the Dawn Federated Church, Dawn, Missouri. He was also a member of the Shoal Creek Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pitch. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home; nine children, Jeremiah Johnson and wife Jessica of Dawn, Missouri, Justin Johnson of Manhattan, Kansas, Jordan Johnson and wife Kali of Chillicothe, Missouri, Ashley Robb and husband Cody Manhattan, Kansas, Michael Whitehead of Arvada, Colorado, Brandy Ly and husband Jason of Liberty, Missouri, Archie Richie of Braymer, Missouri, Tony Richie of Manhattan, Kansas, and Sara Caldwell and husband Matt of Manhattan, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Minnis of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one sister-in-law, Pam Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Pat Johnson; one brother, Ronnie Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Hubert Welker; two brothers-in-law, Jim Minnis and Billy Westerfield; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Brewer. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 5, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 5, 2013, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Collar Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri.
