Daniel G. Singleton

Major Daniel G. Singleton, 62, a long-time resident of Woodland Park, Colorado, died June 24, 2018, in Marble Hill, Missouri.  Dan was born Sept. 16, 1956, in Madison, Wisconsin, and grew up in Middleton. He was the son of Stanley Dale Singleton and Betty Denner Singleton, and the grandson of Stanley and Ila Singleton of Bedford.  Major Singleton retired from the U.S. Army after serving in Fort Kobbe, Panama; Wildflecken, Kitzingen and Aschaffenburg, Germany; Saudi Arabia; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; and Fort Carson, Colorado. He was a Bradley expert and a Ranger.  Dan was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and particularly enjoyed mentoring young hunters as a volunteer with the National Wild Turkey Federation's JAKES program.  Dan was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, a brother, Gary Denner of Milton, Wisconsin, and a sister-in-law, Margie Denner, of Weeki Wachee, Florida. He is survived by a sister, Joan (Tom) Binnie of Marble Hill; two special nieces, Cheyenne and Sierra Binnie; a brother, Mark Denner of Weeki Wachee, Florida; sisters Judy (Bill) Robertson of Durham, North Carolina, Joyce (Dave) Kuhn of Glendale, Arizona, Julie (Jeff) Sar of Hernando Beach, Florida; niece Jennifer (Mike) Casper, nephews Bill Grunert, Eric Kraske, John Denner and Paul Denner; sister-in law, Frances Denner, and his fiancée, Sarah P. Reddoch of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Graveside services will be held on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Avalon, Cemetery Avalon Missouri. A gathering and meal will be held at the Hale Community Center following the graveside service. All veterans and the community are invited to attend for fellowship and camaraderie. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Wild Turkey Federation's JAKES program or a military related program of the donor's choice, and may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
