D. Joanne Roberts

D. Joanne Roberts, 76, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on January 10, 2011, at NorthCare Hospice House after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Joanne was born April 3, 1934, in Dawn, Missouri, the daughter of Everett and Harriett Lowrey. She was married to Stanley "Sonny" Roberts who survives of the home. Joanne worked for Atlantic Richfield in Kansas City and later for Harden, Cummins, Moss & Miller in Chillicothe. After her retirement, she continued doing bookkeeping for Remedies in Carrollton. She attended Ludlow Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Albert Lowrey, Oren Lowrey, and Dale Lowrey, and her sisters, Ethel Evans and Mildred Johnson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Russell Lowrey of Gladstone, Missouri, her sisters, Olive Snider of Kansas City, Missouri, Gladys Stark of Smithville, Missouri, Frances Braden of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Jeanette "Peggy" Jones of Kearney, Missouri, and her sister-in-laws, Helen Lowrey of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Juanita Lowrey, of Gladstone, Missouri. Joanne was an extra mom to numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011. Visitation will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 13, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mooresville Cemetery, Mooresville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Ludlow Community Church or NorthCare Hospice House and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
