Cora Mae Grouse
Cora Mae Grouse, age 97, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Cora was born the daughter of David Arthur and Margaret Malinda (Tharp) Persell on January 17, 1922, in Spickard, Missouri. She was united in marriage to George C. Grouse on March 17, 1940, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1990. She worked for Boss Glove Factory and Lambert Manufacturing for many years. Cora was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where she was very active in the church, and served as a church greeter.
Survivors include two daughters, Bette A. Mumpower of Kansas City, Missouri, and Margaret Deatz and husband Terry of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Janelle Anderson and husband Bryan of Brunswick, Missouri, and Michelle Snowden and husband Ryan of Asheville, North Carolina; two great grandchildren, Avery and Audrey Snowden; two sisters, Cleta Moore of Brunswick, Missouri, and Cecile Riske of Carrollton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents; and two brothers, Gerald Stottlemyre and John Persell.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Missouri Baptist Home and/or First Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
