Clifford Hughes

Clifford "Shorty" Hughes, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Clifford was born the son of Kelly and Stella (Cutshall) Hughes on December 24, 1931, in Livingston County, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Lucille Berry on July 10, 1951, in Trenton, Missouri. She survives of the home. He was a member of the Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Survivors include his wife, Lucille of the home; two sons, Richard "Rick" Hughes and wife Shauna of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Steven Hughes and wife Joni of Sedalia, Missouri; two daughters, Dianna Akers and husband Marvin of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Pam Hicklin and husband Dennis of Booneville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Kelly "Junior" Hughes and wife Bonnie of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
