Clastine Young

Clastine Young, age 96, a resident of Cowgill, Missouri, passed away at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri on Sunday, September 5, 2010. She was born December 20, 1913, the daughter of James Alfred and Geneva (Wells) Leonard in rural Carroll County, Missouri. On September 25, 1929, she married John Victor Young in Carroll County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2000. Clastine had spent most of her life in the Braymer area. She worked for six years at Stride Rite in Hamilton, Missouri and enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, fishing, and sewing quilts. Another favorite pastime was playing cards. Clastine was known to be very competitive during a game of spades. Most of all, she loved nature and watching the four seasons pass by. Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Kinne of Cowgill, Missouri; two grandsons, Leonard Dale Kinne and wife, Deanna, of Kansas City, Missouri and Dean Alan Kinne of Smithville, Missouri; a granddaughter, Barbara Pierce and husband, Merle of Maryville, Missouri; and four great-grandchildren and four great-great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, James Ivan Leonard; and son-in-law, Robert L. Kinne. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Braymer, Missouri on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery, Cowgill, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
