Clarence "Homer" Smith Clarence Homer Smith, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Grand River Health Care in Chillicothe. Beloved brother of Norman Lee Smith (now deceased), Clarence was born to Clarence Alroy and Pansy (Provolt) Smith in the Chillicothe home of his grandparents, John and Cora Provolt, on August 17, 1929. He was known by his middle name by close family members. He is survived by nieces, Donna Lee Lyell and her husband, Rick, living in California, and her children, Natalie and Jeff, and Elizabeth Joy Baker and her husband Andy, living in England, and their children, Shelby and Ian. Alani Smith, daughter of nephew Danny Howard Smith (now deceased) lives in Arizona. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his love of cats, his appreciation for a good joke, fondness for Dr. Pepper, and love of family. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 14, 2013, from noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Rivers Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
