Christina "Tina" Michelle Mapel

Christina "Tina" Michelle Mapel Tina Mapel, age 24, a resident of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Chillicothe, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2014, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Tina was born the daughter of David and Diana (Dowell) Mapel on April 26, 1989, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 2007 graduate of Chillicothe High School, where she was active in Softball, Basketball, and Flag Corp, serving as captain. Tina was also active in many other various clubs and organizations. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Tina graduated with an Associate's Degree in Education from Maple Woods Community College. She was currently attending Johnson County Community College where she was earning certification in American Sign Language. Tina worked for Anheuser Busch as a Budweiser Promotion Girl. She was active in their charity program. Survivors include her beloved dog Molly; her parents, David and Diana Mapel of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, David Tyler Mapel of Augusta, Georgia; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Mapel of St. Joseph, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Richard and Joyce Dowell of Chillicothe, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Danny Dowell and wife Tammy of Chillicothe, Missouri, Denise Mason of Chillicothe, Missouri, Steve Mapel and wife Lori of Liberty, Missouri, Tracy Cameron and wife Diane of St. Joseph, Missouri, Clark Gunion and wife Robin of Richland, Washington, Mike Mapel of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Roger Mapel and wife Jerri of St. Joseph, Missouri; numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Eugene Mapel. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 13, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 13, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and also at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friends may call at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Private family burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
