Rev. Chester Field White, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Chester was born the son of Thomas Alphonsy and Mary Lee (Toolley) White on October 23, 1926, in Forest Green, Missouri. He was a graduate of Dalton Vocational School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 until 1959. Chester was united in marriage to Margaret Lois Nance on June 25, 1975, in Marion, South Carolina. She survives of the home. He worked at Donaldson Company, Chillicothe, Missouri. Chester also worked as a bus driver in Lincoln, Nebraska, for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He served and retired as a pastor at Virginia Street Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri. Chester was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret White of the home; three sons, Curtis Lee White and wife Tricia of Chillicothe, Missouri, Dr. Ivery Joe White and wife Cecilia of Mullins, South Carolina, and David Brufus White and wife Marsha of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Sarah Arlette Midgyett of Chillicothe, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Troy Midgyett; two sisters, Mable White and Lucille White; and one brother, Raydell White.
Funeral services will be held at Soul's Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that masks be worn at the funeral service. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri.
