Chester Scott Garber Chester Scott Garber, age 92, a resident of Tina, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in Independence, Missouri. Chester was born on September 16, 1922, in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of James Austin and Julia Fay (Hansen) Garber. He attended Stokes Mound Grade School and graduate from Tina High School. At an early age, he was united with the Oakland Christian Church. Later in life, he transferred his membership to the United Church of Tina, of which he was superintendent for several years. On December 31, 1947, he married Lucille Summers of Hale, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 3, 1982. On June 16, 1983, he married Lora Mae White of Bosworth, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2012. He was widely known throughout the area as a Carpenter and Cabinet maker. Some of his projects included being Supervisor of the building of the United Church of Tina, the Methodist Church of Bosworth, and also the Tina Community Hall. He is survived by four step grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; six step great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Lawrence and Velma Minnis; and step daughter, Donna McNeal. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Tina, Missouri, on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Tina, Missouri, on Sunday, November 9, 2014, one hour prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and also at the Lindley Funeral Home, Tina, Missouri, on Saturday, November 9, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coloma Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
