Cherry Dorene Jackson Cherry Dorene Jackson, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri. Dorene was born the daughter of Noah and Lorene (Barnes) Hayes on February 2, 1922, in Harris, Missouri. From the age of 7, she was raised by her foster mother, Ethel Weaver. Dorene was united in marriage to Alvie Marion Jewell. He preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Thaddieous N. Jackson on February 1, 1970, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2009. Dorene worked at Head Start School for several years. She also worked as a waitress. Survivors include one son, Norman Jewell and wife Jo Anna of Sherwood, Oregon; two daughters, Charlene Guilford of Hale, Missouri, and Patricia Robinson of Independence, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Willa Dean Jones of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Geraldine (Jerri) Faubion of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one niece, Ida Thompson of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Alvie; second husband, Thaddieous; and her foster mother, Ethel Weaver. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Anderson-Smith Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
