Charles Richter Charles Richter, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Charles was born the son of James G. and Ruth (Vossberg) Richter on July 27, 1918 in Gilman City, Missouri. He was a 1935 Gilman City High School Graduate. He was united in marriage to Martha Russell on February 21, 1939, in Unionville, Missouri. She survives of the home. Charles served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a farmer and a carpenter. He also worked for Wire Rope in Kansas City, Missouri, and at Donaldson Co. in Chillicothe, Missouri for more than twenty years. Charles attended Calvary Baptist Church, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He loved fishing, camping, and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Martha Richter, of the home; one daughter, Venita Kelley, of Riverside, Missouri; one son, Russell Richter, of Riverside, Missouri; one sister Maretta Collins, of Osceola, Missouri; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jack Richter; two brothers, Warner Richter, and George Richter; one sister, Edna Richter, one granddaughter, Kelly Richter, and one great-grandson, Christopher Ashbrooke. Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
