Charles Woodbridge Peirce, Jr., 86, of Ludlow, Missouri, died November 26, 2011 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Charles was born September 24, 1925 in Catawba, Missouri, the son of Charles W. Peirce, Sr. and Luella (Cashatt) Peirce. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 through 1946. On June 10, 1950, Charles married Bonnie Ruth Johnson of Dawn, Missouri. He worked and retired from Duetz Allis of Independence, Missouri for 23 years. After retirement he worked several years for John Hill Bus Lines in maintaining the buses for Braymer C-4 School. He was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church, also the American Legion and V.F.W. Charles is survived by his wife, of the home; one daughter, Luella Newberry of Ludlow, Missouri; five sons, Charles Woodward and wife Carol of Raytown, Missouri, Dennis Peirce and wife Mary of Warrensburg, Missouri, Terry Peirce, Sarah of Braymer, Missouri, Donald Peirce and wife Cheryl of Menifee, California, Michael Peirce and wife Trish of Ludlow, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Arlene Coshow and husband Larry and Mary Climer and husband Dennis of Casper, Wyoming; one brother, John Peirce and wife Judy of Casper, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carleen Stratton and her husband Roy Stratton. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri. There will be a family fellowship following the service at the Ludlow Lions Club, Ludlow, Missouri. Friends may call the Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
