Charles Eddy Charles Eddy, age 72, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family members, on Monday, July 9, 2018, at his residence. Charles was born the son of Charles Louis and Shirley Maxine (Hartlein) Eddy on December 6, 1945, in Sikeston, Missouri. He was a 1963 graduate of New Madrid High School. Charles served in the United States Army from 1968 until 1972, during the Vietnam War. He attended the University of Missouri, graduating in 1973, with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. He was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Harper on March 23, 1975, in Peculiar, Missouri. She survives of the home. Charles worked for the USDA as a soil conservationist for 35 years, until his retirement in December of 2000. He then co-owned and operated Gaslight Real Estate, since 2001, until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri, where he has served as an elder since 2002. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; two sons, Joe David Eddy and wife Kelly of Rocheport, Missouri, and John Daniel Eddy and wife Teresa of Henryetta, Oklahoma; two daughters, Lynnette Marie Berry and husband Michael of Kansas City, Missouri, and Leah Michelle Robitaille and husband Jason of Russellville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, David O. Eddy and wife Betty Lou of New Madrid, Missouri, and Jerry Lee Eddy and wife Mary Catherine of Lebanon, Tennessee; and mother-in-law, Gladys Harper of Urich, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Shirley Faye; one grandson, Elijah Hunter Saldivar; father-in-law, Joy S. Harper; and two sisters-in-law, Pamela Harper and Laura West. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
