Charles Fredrick "Father Fred" Collins Charles Fredrick "Father Fred" Collins, age 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at his residence. Fred was born the son of John Ralph and Donna Gertrude (Tunnell) Collins on July 5, 1932, in Reger, Missouri. He was a 1950 graduate of Milan High School. After graduation, he married Mildred Pryor in Arkansas. He served in the United States Army Signal Corps from 1952 until 1954, as an H S Radio Operator during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Eula Mae Long on March 20, 1971, in Dawn, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2012. Fred worked as an auto mechanic for Barnes Baker Motors, Chillicothe, Missouri, from 1965 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, the Chillicothe Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2428, and the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656. Fred enjoyed woodworking, quail hunting, NASCAR, Chiefs, Royals games, and watching western movies. In his younger years, he was an avid dancer, especially swing dance and big band. Survivors include one son, Frederick "Alex" Collins, of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Vickie Anderson, and husband, David, of Avalon, Missouri, and Donna Collins, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one stepson, Larry Johnson and wife Lynn of Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; one sister, Diane G. Collins, of Milan, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eula Mae; one brother, John Enloe Collins; and one sister, Patricia Shepherd. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, February 19, 2018, one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 18, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri.
