Carolyn R. Rawlins Carolyn R. Rawlins, age 89, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at her home. Carolyn was born the daughter of Herbert and Caroline (Myers) Walz on April 14, 1927, in Utica, Missouri. She was a 1945 graduate of Utica High School. On September 1, 1946, she was married to Ellis Rawlins in Utica, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2014. Carolyn worked as a farmer, homemaker and operator of the family dairy farm for many years. She loved the land and was determined to remain on the farm after her husband's death. Carolyn was a member of the Hale United Methodist Church, Hale, Missouri, where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Sunshine Neighbors Club, and enjoyed playing bridge with many of her friends. Carolyn also served as a Carroll County Democratic Committee Woman. Survivors include two sons, Eldon Rawlins of Westminster, Colorado, and Edwin Rawlins and wife Debbie of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two daughters, Brenda Gilson of Independence, Missouri, and Randa Rawlins and husband Blaine Einspahr of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren, Darla Weekley and husband Roy of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Aaron Rawlins and wife Madi of Longmont, Colorado; three great grandchildren, Brock Weekley of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Morgan Rawlins and Hayley Rawlins both of Longmont, Colorado; one brother, Robert Walz of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and one sister, Fontelle Lemon of Valparaiso, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ellis; one grandson, Doug; and two sisters, Madeline Hawkins and Charlene Coleman. The family expresses their deep appreciation for her caretaker, Berdie Thudium. Funeral services will be held at the Hale United Methodist Church, Hale, Missouri, on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri.
