Carol M. Lamb

Carol M. Lamb, age 92, a resident of Ludlow, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Carol was born the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Hooker) Gilliland on October 22, 1919 in Ludlow, Missouri. She was a graduate of Ludlow High School. She was united in marriage to Russell L. Lamb on June 18, 1938 in Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1986. She worked as a farm woman as an owner/operator of her farm in Ludlow, Missouri. Carol was a member of the Ludlow Community Church, Friendly Circle Extension Club and was a 4-H Project Leader, worked as an apple sorter at the Apple Orchard Hill in Utica, Missouri, and served as the Monroe Township Tax Collector. Survivors include one son, Donald Lamb of St. Joseph, Missouri; two daughters, Sharron Stedem and husband Charlie of Chillicothe, Missouri, Mary Baker and husband Ken of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Dave Gilliland and wife Betty Ann of Ludlow, Missouri, Dohn Gilliland and wife Joyce of Ludlow, Missouri; five sisters, Mina Anderson and husband Ralph of Omaha, Nebraska, Nina Thomas of Carrollton, Missouri, Marilyn Carson and husband Paul of St. Joseph, Missouri, Nola Zeltwanger and husband Bill of St. Joseph, Missouri, Janice Swanson of Florida State; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell who died in 1986; two brothers, Pat Gilliland and Richard Gilliland; one sister Grace Smith. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, December 10, 2011, one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call the funeral home on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Monroe Cemetery, Ludlow Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Monroe Cemetery and/or Crossroads Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
