Carol Ruth Hornsby

Carol R. Hornsby, age 74, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was born October 15, 1936, in Belleville, Kansas, the daughter of Marvin M. and Blanch M. (Bauer) Brown. On January 21, 1955, she married Richard E. Hornsby in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2009. Carol and her husband owned and operated Skip's Friendly Tire in Chillicothe from 1983 to 1994. Survivors include one son, Bob and wife Trish Hornsby of Meadville, Missouri; one daughter, Kathy Davis of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, Don Brown of Thiensville, Wisconsin; one sister, Fern Weber of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Nicole, Tameka, Robert, Megan, Austin, and Dillon; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son Michael E. Hornsby on November 8. 2006; two brothers, Jack Brown and Dale Brown; and great grandson Walker Eugene Raymo on October 25, 2003. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
