Carol Gossick, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Lawrence, Kansas.

Carol was born to Leon and Opal (Long) Littrell on September 20, 1932 in Livingston County, Missouri. She was a 1950 graduate of Wheeling High School. She was united in marriage to John Gossick on November 22, 1956, in Wheeling, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 2010.  She was a member of First Christian Church, Chillicothe, and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She loved playing bridge, vacationing, and celebrating holidays and birthdays with family. She greatly enjoyed supporting her favorite sports teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers.

Survivors include her son, Douglas Gossick and wife Allison, of Prairie Village, Kansas; two daughters, Kristy Meservey and husband Dan of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Kerry Hutchison and husband Gregg of Lawrence, Kansas.  She adored her eight grandchildren: Brad, Brett, and Bryan Hutchison, Nick (Audrey) and Scott Meservey, and Jackson, Camryn and Ryan Gossick. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Margaret Norwood of Chillicothe, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John; two brothers, Max and Benny Littrell; and sister, Anna Ruth Pickering.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Carol's life is planned for May 15, 2021, at 5 p.m. at the Venue of Chillicothe, 923 Waples St., Chillicothe, Missouri.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeling Community Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
