Carmen Rosita Boley
Carmen Rosita Boley, age 96, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Carmen was born to Mamerto Joaquin and Consorcia (Cabale) Flores on December 13, 1924, in Pagsanjan Laguna, Philippine Islands, where she was raised and received her education. She married Harold D. Boley on November 12, 1947, while he was serving at the United States Navy Base on Manila, Philippine Islands. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1995.
They arrived in Sacramento, California on August 26, 1948. After living in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Iowa, and Illinois, they settled in Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1959.
Carmen had worked at the Espanola Hospital in New Mexico, and at the Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. After moving to Chillicothe, she worked for 8 years at the Chillicothe Hospital, which later became the original Hedrick Medical Center. In 1967, she was employed by Dr. Donald M. Dowell, M.D., at the Dowell Clinic for 7 years, and by Dr. H.R. Trinidad, M.D., and Dr. Joseph F. Gale, M.D., at the Dowell Clinic for 2 years. In 1976, she began working at the original Hedrick Medical Office Building with Dr. Joseph F. Gale, M.D., for 10 years before her retirement in October of 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Dusenberry and husband Marshall of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Shirley Jean Garr and husband Forrest of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sons, Gary Lyn Boley and wife Theresa of Bradenton, Florida, and Larry Dale Boley of Kansas City, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; one son, Alan Dean Boley; two grandsons, Jason Boley and Travis Boley; and brothers and a sister.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A public graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carmen Boley Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
