Carl Leonard Simmons Carl Leonard Simmons, age 43, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at his residence. Carl was born the son of George and Sue (Claycomb) Simmons on January 21, 1974, in Cameron, Missouri. He attended Cameron High School. After high school, he attended Fort Scott Community College, Fort Scott, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Kelley on June 13, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives of the home. Carl worked as a truck driver for Climate Express for 6 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chillicothe, Missouri. Carl enjoyed collecting action figures, singing, entertaining, and making people laugh. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Simmons of the home; mother, Sue Hargis of Fairview, Missouri; two sons, Carl Leonard Edward Simmons of Hamilton, Missouri, William Riley Simmons of Hamilton, Missouri; two stepsons, Brandyn Piña of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Raymond Piña of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Kailyn Lea Simmons of Sterling, Colorado; three stepdaughters, Vanessa Piña of Springdale, Arkansas, Marissa Piña of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Rebecca Piña of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Leelyn Crook and Annabelle Crook; two sisters, Mandy Simmons of Weatherby, Missouri, and Kelly Hargis and husband Tom of Kidder, Missouri; one niece, Sydney Simmons of Weatherby, Missouri; and one nephew, Bryson Durham of Weatherby, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Theodore and Rosa Simmons; and maternal grandparents, Turney and Goldia Claycomb. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
