Carl Lavern Shipp, Jr.
Carl Lavern Shipp, Jr., age 69, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Carl was born the son of Carl L. and Virginia (Williamson) Shipp on January 20, 1950, in Pasadena, Texas. He was a 1968 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Carl served in the United States Air Force for 25 years from 1969 until 1993. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Faye Sensenich on August 30, 1969, in Meadville, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for the United States Postal Service for a few years. He also worked for Chillicothe Municipal Utilities. Carl was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, the Chillicothe Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2428, and the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette, of the home; one son, Jeff Shipp and wife Victoria of Smithville, Missouri; one daughter, Audra Shipp of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brenda Walker, Brandon Walker, Clayton Carpenter, Aurora Carpenter, and Carl Davie Shipp; one brother, Larry Shipp of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Carla Kirkland and husband Jerry of Kearney, Missouri, and Margaret Lane and husband Ronnie of Carrollton, Missouri; and stepsister, Dorlene Meneely and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepsister, Adeta Thoenen.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri.
