Carl William James Carl William James, age 70, a resident of Ludlow, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Carl was born the son of David T. and Mary Virginia (Goll) James in Saint Louis, Missouri, on September 3, 1947. Throughout his adult life, Carl lived with his family in Ludlow, Missouri. He was a member of the Ludlow Community Church in Ludlow. He was a 1965 graduate of Southwest High School in Ludlow, Missouri. He attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri and Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri after high school. He joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1968-1970. Carl worked as a correction officer and a case manager for the State of Missouri at the Cameron Prison and the Chillicothe Women's Correction Center for 17 years. He also worked for the B and N Railroad and was a sign painter for Alford Outdoor Advertising. Carl was a member of the Roy L. Burkett VFW Post 858 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the Tweedie-Murray American Legion Post 117 in Braymer, Missouri, and also a member of the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge #334 A.F. and A.M. He was a former member of the Ludlow Lions Club and the Moila Shrine Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. Carl is survived by two children, son, David James, and wife, Crystal, of Kearney, Missouri, and daughter, Mary LeAnn Bradshaw, and husband, David, of Blue Springs, Missouri; four grandchildren, Macy James, Abigail Bradshaw, Dawson James and Anthony Bradshaw; and one sister, Shirley Anderson, and husband, Richard, of Dawn, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. A family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home on Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A private family graveside inurnment will be held at a later date at the Welch Cemetery in Dawn, Missouri.
