Buell Vernon Applebury, age 76, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his residence.
Buell was born the son of Alvis and Susan Applebury on March 11, 1947, in Avalon, Missouri. He graduated from Chillicothe High School and went on to graduate from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, where he was in the ROTC program. He attended officers training and helicopter training. Buell proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army flying helicopters in Vietnam.
After leaving the Army, Buell had several vocations, but eventually found his footing in the cable television industry. Buell retired as a Regional Manager of Installations for Hughes Net. He worked for them for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Judy; sister, Kay and husband, Richard; stepchildren, Lisa Currier and husband, Michael, Kimberly Bowe, Cherri Yale and husband Palmer, Tari Graves, and William Bowe, and wife, Tina; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Help or First Christian Church and may be mailed to or left at Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
