Bud Banhart Bud Banhart, age 71, resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on August 31, 2011 at Saint Luke's East, Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was born the son of John Banhart and Susie Morrison, on December 18, 1939, in Altus, Arkansas. He married Lucy Summers on June 6, 1964, in Ozark, Arkansas. She survives of the home. Bud and Lucy moved to Chillicothe, Missouri in 1971, from Camden, Arkansas. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was member of the Plumbers Union Hall Local #8, in Kansas City, Missouri. Bud owned and operated Bud Banhart Plumbing. He was a member of the United Gamefowl Breeders Association. He was an avid duck hunter, who loved the outdoors, gardening, and baseball. He was a Hornet fan and an Arkansas Razorback fan. Most of all he loved going to his grandchildren's activities. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Banhart and wife Rachelle of Odessa, Missouri; one daughter, Jana Lesley Banhart Shira and husband Kevin, of Utica, Missouri; six grandchildren, Glenn, Aubrey, and Jay Banhart of Odessa, Missouri, Trevor John, Spencer, and Keeley Jules of Utica, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one son, John Aubrey "Jay" Banhart, his parents John and Susie Banhart, one brother, Bill Banhart; two sisters, Mary Ray and WeedaBanhart, and one sister-in-law, Pat Summers. Funeral services will be held at the Community Baptist Church, Utica, Missouri, on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 2, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friends may call after 12 noon on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be held at Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to House of Prayer Rescue Mission and/or the Utica Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
