Bobby D. Minnis

Bobby Dean Minnis, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri on Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was born the son of Clyde and Edith (Wheelbarger) Minnis on July 26, 1931. On February 27, 1958, he married Mary Boone in Macomb, Illinois. She survives of the home. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a mail carrier for 28 years. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and Bingo. He is also survived by three sons, Darrell Minnis and wife Sandi of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, Robert Minnis and wife Lisa of Higginsville, Missouri, Warren Minnis and wife Toby of Chillicothe, Missouri; a daughter, Patricia Minnis and Companion Les Dykes of Utica, Missouri; two step-daughters, Janet Baker of Chillicothe, Missouri and Carolyn VanHorn of Utica, Missouri; one step-son Gary Brown and wife Shelia of Grandbury, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren; and six sisters Mary Hibner of Laclede, Missouri, Lucille Powers of South Carolina, Eva DeArmon of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Doris Hussey of Avalon, Missouri, Bonnie Thompson of Mooresville, Missouri and Carolyn McCracken of Bogard, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roy and Gene Minnis a sister Martha Taylor and an infant sister Lulu. Funeral Services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8:00 a.m. until services time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
