Bob Gipe Bobby Lee Gipe, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Bob was born the son of Clarence and Rosa (Tilghman) Gipe on February 6, 1928, in Burlington Junction, Missouri. Bob was a 1946 graduate of Burlington Junction High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1948 until 1952. He was united in marriage to Eva Lavonne Westcott on December 30, 1950, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 27, 1993. Bob worked in maintenance at The Baptist Home where he retired in 1992. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where he served on both the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Livingston County Ambulance Board, and loved wood working. Survivors include one son, Greg Gipe and wife Luanne of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Cindy Baker and husband David Baker of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren, Andrew Gipe and wife Leah of Kansas City, Jaden Gipe and Katie Myers of Chillicothe, Missouri, Madison Gipe of Chillicothe, Missouri, Austin Baker and wife Lauren of Kansas City, Missouri, and Shannon Baker of Overland Park, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, William Gipe, Marlo Gipe, and Braydon Johnson; one brother, James Gipe and wife Bonnie of Grant City, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavonne; and four sisters, Lillia Williams, Katherine Arthur, Arcelle Livengood, and Charlotte Gipe. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Monday October 31, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
