Betty Jo Wooden
Betty Jo Wooden, age 76, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab, Richmond, Missouri.
Betty Jo was born the daughter of Thomas and Blanche (Palmer) Burk on November 8, 1944, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Jimmie Wooden on July 3, 1975, in Braymer, Missouri. He survives of the home. Betty Jo was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Lawson, Missouri. She enjoyed tractor pulls, and was a meticulous record keeper for each tractor pulled in each heat. Betty Jo also enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, her coy fish pond, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She loved turkey hunting.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Wooden of the home; two sons, Kevin Halterman and wife Lisa of Richmond, Missouri, and Gary Halterman and friend Amanda Reynolds of Polo, Missouri; two stepchildren, Brent Wooden of Gladstone, Missouri, and Brenda Wever and husband Tracy of Mooresville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jake Halterman and fiancé Sarah Jensen, Elizabeth Halterman, Kelsey Weber and husband Cole, Andrew Wooden, Matthew Wever, and Christopher Wever and wife Keyona; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Burk and wife Dorothy of Richmond, Missouri, and Raymond Burk and wife Beverly of Hardin, Missouri; and one sister, Shirley Burk of Richmond, Missouri. She was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Pete, Thomas Lenual, Jr., and Jack; and four sisters, Lillie, Dorothy, Margie, and Martha.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O.
