Betty Jean Sears Betty Jean Sears, age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her residence. Betty was born the daughter of Donald and Dorothy Pearl (Hicks) Lale on December 14, 1930, in Marshall, Missouri. She was united in marriage to James Sears on July 30, 1951, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1999. Betty and James owned and operated a restaurant and laundry mat in Meadville, Missouri in the late 1950's and 1960's. Betty was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church and attended the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a member of The Chillicothe Red Hatters, Jolly Jane, Chillicothe Humane Society, Sorosis, and Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary Club. Survivors include one daughter Cristy Lynn Freemyer and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother Michael Lale of Missouri; one step sister, Pat Heinemann of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son James Sears II. Services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand River YMCA and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
