Betty Fern Routh Betty Fern Routh, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Betty was born the daughter of Zearl and Kathryn (Shelton) Bethards on October 14, 1928, in Chula, Missouri. She was a 1946 graduate of Laredo High School. She was united in marriage to Otis Dail Routh on May 23, 1953, in Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1984. Betty was a member of the Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where she was active in Awana. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Survivors include one daughter, Rachael Spence and husband Jared of Unionville, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Mitchell, Mason, and Jaylee McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otis; stepson, Charles Routh; and one brother, Jack Bethards. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, August 11, 2018, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, August 10, 2018, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
