Betty L. Peterie, age 85, a resident of Laredo, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Sunny View Nursing Home, Trenton, Missouri.
Betty was born the daughter of L.V. "Port" and Mae (Searcy) Barnett on November 13, 1933 in Laredo, Missouri. She was a 1951 graduate of Laredo High School Laredo, Missouri. Betty was united in marriage to Eldon "Boo" Peterie on August 29, 1953, in Laredo, Missouri. Betty lived in the Laredo Community all of her life and served as a volunteer for the Laredo fire and ambulance district and was a member of the Laredo Christian Church. She was an exceptional cook especially, when it came to cooking wild game. Betty always told her friends and family her job was to make sure everyone was well fed. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include: her husband Boo of the home; two sons, Kerry Peterie and wife Cindy of Chula, Missouri, and Mike Peterie of Laredo, Missouri; one daughter, Lora Jackson and husband Les of Trenton, Missouri; one sister, Patty Tate of Galt, Missouri; four grandchildren, Erica Blue and husband Donald of Chillicothe, Missouri, Lisa Dannar and husband Jeremy of Kansas City, Missouri, Logan Jackson and wife Meagan of Columbia, Missouri, and Tyler Jackson and wife Dani of St. Louis, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Henley, Hattie, Jacob and Eleanor Jackson and Owen and Kylie Dannar. Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Laredo Christian Church, Laredo, Missouri. A scheduled visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Laredo Christian Church. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Laredo, Missouri on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Richardson Cemetery, Laredo, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laredo Fire Department and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O. Box 47 Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
