Betty Jean (Rist) McNally
Betty Jean (Rist) McNally, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Betty was born the daughter of James and Mae (Russell) Rist May 28, 1928 in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Chillicothe in 1930, On September 25, 1946, she was united in marriage to Scotty Elmo McNally in Troy, Kansas. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage before his death in 1995.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. For many years she worked at Boss Manufacturing. She and her husband, Elmo, also ran the Travel Inn Motel for the Ruth Ann Steele family. For a time, she also worked as a CNA. Volunteering at Hedrick Medical Center, sewing and making handmade quilts, and being a member of the Red Hatters, were ways Betty enjoyed spending her time.
Survivors include one son, Sid McNally of Chillicothe, Missouri; six grandchildren, Audrie Wigfield Ludwig and husband, Brian, of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jeff McNally Griffith and wife, Nikki, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Aaron McNally and wife, Rachel, of Longmont, Colorado, Lindsey McNally Claxton and husband, Charlie of Switzerland, Ryan McNally and wife, Janae, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Laura McNally Yost and husband, Brandon, of South Dakota; seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Rist of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jack McNally; one daughter, Karen Mitchell; one grandson, Bradley McNally; and her step mother, Ethyl Rist.
Graveside services will be held at Anderson-Smith Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January, 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Monday, January 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to service.
