Betty Ruth Avery Hunt Betty Ruth Avery Hunt, age 94, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at her residence. Betty was born the daughter of Clarence and Elva (Lester) Avery on March 28, 1923, in Hale, Missouri. She was a 1941 graduate of Hale High School. She then attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, and graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor's of Arts Education. She was united in marriage to Estil G. Hunt on April 24, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2000. She was a member of Hale Baptist Church, Hale PEO, and avid Missouri Tigers fan. Survivors include one son, Richard Hunt and wife Susan of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Robin Smith of Hale, Missouri, and Susan Cowart and husband Mixon of Loganville, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Cowart of Loganville, Georgia, Samuel Avery Hunt of Seattle, Washington, Grace Myung Hunt of San Francisco, California, and Olivia Piper Hunt of Yelm, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Estil; and a grandson, Josh. Funeral services will be held at the Hale Baptist Church, Hale Missouri, on May 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Sunday, May 14, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Sunday, May 14, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri.
