Betty Jean Eklund Betty Jean Eklund, age 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, Missouri. Betty was born the daughter of Benjamin and Scottie (Stephens) Beaman on June 30, 1929, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was a 1946 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri. Betty was united in marriage to Everett Jr. Cobb on December 5, 1946, in Troy Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1994. She was then married Harold Eklund on February 5, 2005 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2009. Betty worked as a Staff Accountant for Harden Cummings Moss and Miller for 40 years before retiring in 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, and the Chillicothe Chapter 13 Order of Eastern Star. Betty also served as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Olive Prindle Chapter where she served as treasurer for many years, and a Charter Member and Treasurer for the Livingston County Genealogical Society. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Girotti and husband John of Kirksville, Missouri, Susan Miller and husband Tom of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Janet Beaty and husband Bill of Trinidad, Colorado; one brother Jim Beaman and wife Linda of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister Melvalene Evans of Chillicothe, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Everett Jr. Cobb; husband Harold Eklund; one daughter, Betty Cobb; one sister Nilene Lollar; and one brother Virgil Dowell. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
