Betty Busby
On July, 16, 2022, Betty (Rockhold) Busby passed away peacefully in Kansas City, MO, after a brief illness. She was 99 years old. Betty Busby was born to Eugene and Frankye (Treat) Rockhold at their home in Ludlow, MO, on June 22, 1923. She attended Ludlow High School and was an active member of Ludlow Community Church.
Betty is survived by her 2 sons, Dr. William "Bill" and Lorna Busby, of Jefferson City, MO, his 7 children, Erika, Carrie, Lanie, Tori, Laurie, Abbi, Jessi, and his 13 grandchildren and Michael "Mike" Busby and Beth Matney of Blue Springs, MO, and his 4 children, Melissa, Megan, Mike, Tyler, and his 7 grandchildren. As well as Betty's dear friend, Susan Finnigin, of Gladstone, MO.
Betty married John Busby on August 10, 1940. John was called to service in 1944 and upon return home from the Navy, they lived on the family farm. Betty worked at Ludlow National Bank for many years and retired in 1978.
Betty loved bowling, watching Mizzou football and basketball, playing cards, dominos and Yahtzee with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, John Busby, and her granddaughter, Melanie Busby.
Plans for a Celebration of Life will be set for a future date and donations can be made to the Monroe Cemetery at 22469 Hwy D, Ludlow, MO, 64656.
