Betty Lucille Barlow, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, a former resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at StoneBridge Senior Living Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Betty was born the daughter of Clyde Cecile and Evelyn Lana Lilly (Parks) Lightfoot on December 18, 1929, near Tina, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Russell Leon Barlow on October 6, 1945, in Atchison, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2005. Betty worked at Citizens Bank and Trust for many years. She then worked as an administrative assistant for Shelter Insurance in Chillicothe for 20 years until her retirement. Betty was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church in Hale, Missouri. She was also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star #135. In her younger years, Betty and her husband enjoyed traveling. She was very meticulous, enjoying all kinds of accounting and bookkeeping. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lois Meyer and husband, Alfred, of Chillicothe, Missouri, Rita Potter and husband, Gerry, of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Connie Gilson and husband, Gary, of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Lightfoot of Carrollton, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; and one sister, Ella Schamp.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, one hour prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
