Bertha Irene Elliott, age 91, a resident of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the North Kansas City Hospital of North Kansas City, Missouri. Irene was born the daughter of Forrest Glen and Lillie (Collier) Johnson on April 5, 1920 in Sturgess, Missouri. She attended Chillicothe High School. On July 3, 1963 she was united in marriage to LeRoy "Bud" Elliott in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2001. Irene is survived by two daughters, Marlene Dee Elliott of Liberty, Missouri, and Scarlett "Kay" Gerdts and husband Kenny of Odessa, Missouri; two sisters, Bonnie Hughes and husband Kelley of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Marcel Gordon of Kansas City, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Dakota Lorino, Greg Gerdts, and Kenda Millwaters. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; four brothers, Robert Johnson, Jr., Clarence Johnson, Raymond Johnson, and John Joseph Johnson; and two sisters, Agatha Scott and Marjorie Purter. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation Tuesday, March 6, 2012 one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Mercy Hospital and can be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
