Bernie Denton Bernie Denton, age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri. Bernie was born the son of Isom O'Dell and Lillie (Burrows) Denton on February 12, 1934, in Center, Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Angie Lois Jean Gillespie on June 20, 1955, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a metal worker for Grand Builders for many years. Bernie was a member of the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Jean of the home; one son, Doug Denton and wife Monica of Kearney, Missouri; one daughter, Jolita Ward and husband Randy of Chula, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brady Ward of Chula, Missouri, Drew Ward and wife Shelby of Chula, Missouri, Cody Denton and wife Katie of St. Joseph, Missouri, Penny Denton and Zack Cannon of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Spencer Ward of Chula, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Raelee Ward of Chula, Missouri, Keeley Ward of Chula, Missouri, and Reece Denton of St. Joseph, Missouri; three brothers, Billie Gene Denton and wife Pat of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ernie Denton and wife Shauneen of Chillicothe, Missouri, and L.E. Maxie Denton of Ash Flat, Arkansas; and three sisters, Dolline Gibson and husband Waymon of Tupelo, Mississippi, Rebecca Lucille Hughes and husband Bob of Batesville, Arkansas, and Wanda Lou Bryan of Tupelo, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Andrea Janine Denton; and two brothers, Leeo Denton and Bobbie Joe Denton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
