Bernard R. Fastenau

Bernard R. Fastenau, age 68, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on March 12, 1942 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Renny and Moreen Fastenau. On November 26, 1960, he married Jeanette Carlson in San Fernando, California. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Dale Fastenau. Bernard served 12 years in the Air Force after which he attended the Minnesota School of Business, Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1971 he was hired as the Court Reporter for the 43rd Judicial Court of Missouri and stayed in that position for 31 years. He retired on December 31, 2002. He is survived by his wife Jeanette of Chillicothe, Missouri; three children, Parrish Fastenau of Wildwood, Missouri, Bryan Fastenau of Nashville, and Paul Fastenau of Chillicothe, Missouri; and seven grandchildren, Justine West, Lauren Fastenau, Rachel Fastenau, Conner Fastenau, Emily Fastenau, Katlyn Fastenau, and Addison Fastenau. A memorial service will be at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A private family burial will held at a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Forrest E. Triplett Animal Shelter, and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
