Barry Norton Anderson
Barry Norton Anderson, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Barry was born the son of Leland Edmund and Verna Lenore (McKown) Anderson on February 9, 1939, in Ludlow, Missouri. He was a 1957 graduate of Mooresville High School. He then graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics. Barry was a member of the United States Air Force Intelligence Command. He was united in marriage to Nancy Ballew on July 7, 1963, in Hale, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for Amoco Oil for many years. He also worked for Growmark, Inc. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Barry enjoyed electric trains, gardening and yard work. He was happiest outside digging in the dirt. He was an avid Missouri Tigers basketball and football fan. Barry loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; one son, Brian Lee Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Barker and husband Mitch of Fort Scott, Kansas; four grandchildren, Clayton Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Lydia Anderson, and Lauren Ogran; nephew, Bryce Anderson and wife Amy; niece, Rachelle Campbell and husband Vince; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Buddy Mac "Bud" Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 12, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Cemetery, Hale, Missouri.
