Barbara "June" Brown
Barbara "June" Brown, age 86, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, a former resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
June was born the daughter of Clyde and Lola (Colter) Ross on June 3, 1934, in Avalon, Missouri. She was a 1952 graduate of Avalon High School. June was united in marriage to Lloyd Dean Brown on June 12, 1955, in Avalon, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2020. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. June worked at the Avila College Bookstore for many years. She enjoyed making blankets for her grandchildren and other children in the community. June played the piano and organ for Hale United Methodist Church and numerous weddings and funerals.
Survivors include one son, Larry Brown and wife Marilyn of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Lindsay Brown and Jessie Fondren of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Megan Brown and Ben Smith of Chillicothe, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Cooper Jaxon Dean Brown, Chase Brown, Rian McLey, and Easton McLey; and two sisters, Joan Williams of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Gracie Jones of Dawn, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd "Dean"; and one brother, William "Bub" Ross.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visiation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. and at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Memorial Gardens, Hale, Missouri.
